Birdwatching and Snorkeling in Sausapor Town

Sausapor is a small coastal town in the northern coast of Tambrauw regency. It is a nice destination for visitors who like birdwatching and snorkeling.

There are a number of places which tourists can go to watch birds. Some of them are described as follows:

Birding in Sausapor

• Sausapor - Werur Road, this is a very long road that is suitable for general birding especially in the mornings and in the afternoons. Birds that could be seen include Pinon's Imperial Pigeon, Zoe's Imperial Pigeon, Pink-spotted Fruit Dove, Helmetted Friarbird, Grey Crow, Torresian Crow, Hooded Butcherbird, and etc.
• Sausapor - Dumping Ground Road, this road has its junction at Sausapor - Werur Road. Visitors who go by a motorized vehicle from Sausapor needs to turn right and then enter the road to Dumping Ground. Interesting birds could be found here including Rufous-bellied Kookaburra, Sacred Kingfisher, Sulphur-crested Cockatoo, Coconut Lorikeet, Palm Cockatoo, Black-capped Lory, Glossy Swiftlet, Hooded Butcherbird, Brown Oriole, Blyth's Hornbill, and a lot more. 
• Powerplant Forest, this is a very beautiful birding site in Sausapor for visitors who want to watch birds, insects, reptiles and even mammals. In the mornings and afternoons, a lot of birds could be watched there. Birdwatchers could see Lesser Birds of Paradise, King Bird of Paradise, Glossy-mantled Manucode, Eclectus Parrot, Double-eyed Fig Parrot, Black Butcherbird, Red-cheeked Parrot, Palm Cockatoo, Mimic Meliphaga, Western-crowned Pigeon, Yellow-billed Kingfisher, Common Paradise Kingfisher, Moluccan Kingparrot, and a lot more. 

Snorkeling

The house reef of Sansapore Pacific Park is the habitat of various species of fish including anemonefish, butterflyfish, parrotfish, wrasse, and a lot more. Visitors need to bring their own snorkeling mask to see this beautiful marine life.
